In recent years, cross-border payment interconnection between China and Malaysia has been continuously deepened. In 2024, among the cross-border payment transactions transferred through the China UnionPay Clearing Company platform, the transaction scale of Malaysians in China ranked first among all countries, with a year-on-year growth of more than 3 times.

It is reported that under the guidance of the People's Bank of China, China UnionPay Clearing Company has connected with PayNet, a financial infrastructure under the Malaysian central bank. At present, the apps of 13 member institutions under PayNet have been realized in China. At the same time, it supports convenient payment for Malaysians coming to China in all fields of online and offline consumption scenarios in China.
